I am excited to announce that I will be teaching a mini adult fiddle camp on June 26 and 27 in Gibsons! The goal of the weekend will be to play music together, learn tunes and work up a couple arrangements that we will film at the beach (just for fun) on Sunday, weather permitting.
The camp is open to adult learners on the Sunshine Coast and in the Lower Mainland who are interested in ensemble playing and learning new fiddle tunes and sets. Attendance will be capped, so make sure to register now and save your spot!

We will be hosted by Bobbie Mauel in Upper Gibsons/BonnieBrook. She has a large backyard and a large open-concept house that can accommodate workshops and concerts. We will mostly be outside and plan to source several tents to shield us from the sunshine, although there is also plenty of shade on the property. Coffee / tea / cold drinks / water and snacks will be available by donation both days. Please bring your own pack lunch and something to share for a potluck on Saturday evening.
This is appropriate for beginner and intermediate musicians interested in learning by ear! Sheet music will be provided before the camp. This is not suited for those playing an instrument for the first time.
Schedule:
June 26
11:00 - 1:00 Session 1
1:00 - 1:30 Lunch
1:30 - 4:00 Session 2 (with a break)
5:30 Outdoor potluck picnic followed by a Jam!
June 27
10:00 - 12:00 Session 3
12:00 - 3:00 Lunch and a hike with Gabe. Or free time...
3:00 - 5:00 Film tunes at the beach and wrap-up
Fee:
$100 for both days
$65 for one day
Accompanist fee: $80 for both days
(Keep in mind the second day will build on the first, but you will have access to all music beforehand)
Limited spots, so make sure you register soon!
Accommodations & Travel
If you are coming from out of town there will be lots of space to pitch a tent in the backyard at Bobbie Mauel's. There are also lots of beautiful B&Bs in the area.
If you are coming from Vancouver, I highly recommend making a ferry reservation. I will be making mine this weekend.
COVID protocols will be sent prior to the event, based on current public health orders.
I hope to see you there! Please let me know if you have any questions, or if I left anything important out! Feel free to spread the word!
