The LOOSE ROOTS
The Loose Roots are a New Acoustic duo known for their Celtic departures and genre-bending originals. Comprised of Gabriel Dubreuil (violin) and George Crotty (cello), the project traces influences within Canadian fiddle styles and chamber music, enchanting audiences with an original west coast sound: A sonic experience both wild and refined, evoking Oliver Schroer, Genticorum, and Darol Anger.
Together they have toured BC, Ontario, and Quebec, recording a self-titled EP along the way in 2017. Gabriel leads the high-energy folk band Early Spirit, whose release UnRelated (2018) features the likes of Natalie MacMaster. George forges new vocabulary on the cello through his own world-jazz trio. He will be performing solo at the 2021 Vancouver Jazz Festival.
